Welcome to our new Manoa HIV/AIDS page! Welcome to a new season of great posts and raising awareness on a virus most people have heard of. At Manoa we want to do things differently and we decided to sacrifice the colour red and add a lot more colours to our ecosystem!
Why is that? Red is alarming and most of the time refers to something that cannot be done. Imagine a red traffic light, a red warning sign, the red apple given to the very polite yet very ignorant Snow White, and when you think about it, I personally think that it might scare some people instead of inviting them to learn more about a virus that luckily nowadays can be controlled. So, here we are innovating adding colour to a topic that deserves a lot more attention.
What do we want to do at MANOA HIV/AIDS? Well, at first we want to offer you the best and most accurate information on HIV/AIDS. Why is that? Because if we all have the right information it avoids people discriminating others and spreading false information that can affect someone personally or even professionally. The information we are giving you comes from international organisms that dedicate their amazing work to fighting HIV/AIDS around the world. We really want you to understand the current situation, the importance of what is being done and of course hope you can be part of this new generation of people who do not discriminate others for something they have never asked for.
MANOA wouldn’t be MANOA if we didn’t want to make you travel! We will therefore share with you the data of different countries and help you understand that depending on the region, or even on beliefs or political visions, HIV/AIDS affects different type of people. This is what also makes this ecosystem so interesting! Let’s dig in and discover more about these populations that need you to join them to fight HIV/AIDS! Let’s discover what they do, what they think, what it is like in their country and find solutions that can help others!
Finally, discover our amazing “A.R.T for All”, a project where artists can help raise awareness on HIV/AIDS! The name of this project is a word play with A.R.T which stands for Antiretroviral Therapy which is the treatment for HIV. How does it work? Visit our OUR PROJECTS page and if you have artistic skills send us your piece of art and we will publish it on our website and social media!
MANOA HIV/AIDS aims to be a dynamic page where everyone can learn about HIV/AIDS and discover another way of facing a challenge we should all do something about! You do not necessarily need to send money to someone to make a difference, just but sharing the information and by avoiding discrimination you are making a huge step that can mean a lot to people affected by HIV.
